8月31日凌晨4:00麦蒂一行离开中奥马哥孛罗大酒店赶往首都国际机场，乘坐6:50飞往底特律的国际航班返回美国。历时8天的麦蒂中国之行就此画上圆满的句号。
临行前麦蒂先生特写下一封饱含深情的信，并通过他的中方合作公司感爱文化传媒(北京)有限公司与各大媒体、网站向热爱他、关心他的广大球迷和各界朋友表示感谢，具体内容如下：
《致我亲爱的中国球迷们》——Tracy McGrady
我亲爱的中国球迷们：
当飞机在跑道上缓缓爬升的时候，我知道我将要结束这一次难忘的中国之旅了，透过机窗看到的中国依然美丽，依然繁华，而我的眷恋也将永远留在这片古老而文明的土地上，留在你们这群最最亲爱的我的中国球迷中间。
从美国飞往北京的飞机落地，我踏上中国的土地那天开始，中国球迷带给我的惊喜和感动就时刻包围着我，簇拥着我，温暖着我，让我体会到一个古老文明国度厚重文化的魅力和一个正在发展中的泱泱大国的博大胸怀；是篮球让你我冥冥中注定这份跨越海洋的缘分，是你们让我更加体会篮球这项运动的精髓与伟大。它是一座桥梁，让万里之遥的你我也可以心灵相通。
虽然身在美国NBA打球，但是我也时刻没有忘记在遥远的大洋彼岸的你们，你们的爱一直是我坚持篮球和追逐梦想的动力，来中国当面的和你们进行互动也是我一直萦绕脑海的愿望，终于在各方的通力协调和努力下，我的这一愿望终于得以实现。
这一路走来，从北京到贵阳，从合肥到佛山，一路惊喜，一路感爱。我知道你们为了你我之间的这次见面准备了太多、等待了太久，我不禁深感愧疚；我将记住你们所有人，这些美好的记忆将一直激励着我。
当一些获得签名的球迷感动的落泪的时候，其实我的内心一样充满感恩，无奈时间太短暂，我无法满足每一位苦苦守候的亲爱的中国球迷的签名或者合影的要求，我只能深表歉意！当然，我相信我一定会再来中国，再来与你们相会，等着我，我亲爱的中国球迷朋友们！

To all the beloved fans in China
My dear Chinese fans,
When the plane is climbing,I know that this unforgettable Chinatrip finished. Through the plane window, I see so beautiful China, with somuch prosperity, and my affection will always attached to this modern land withlong history of ancient civilization. As well my love will always stay with you- My dearest Chinese fans。
Looking back over this " To feel and Love"Chinatrip, each scene of our meet refresh itself to my mind again and again. Fromthe time that the plane landed in Beijing,when my feet touched Chinese land, Chinese fans touched my heart and surprisedme again and again and this feeling always surround me, hug me and make myheart so warm. All of this shows me so deep charm about its culture of thiscountry of ancient civilization and also shows the generous bearing of thishuge developing nation. It is basketball who pre-determined this cross-oceantie *ween you and me, and it makes us understand more about the spirit andgreatness of basketball sports. It is a bridge which makes our heart feel eachother from afar。
Although I play basketball in NBA, but I neverforget you guys next side of the pacific ocean. Your solicitude and blessingmotivate me to insist in basketball playing and chasing my dream. It is alwaysmy expectation to have interactions with Chinese fans, and this trip makes mydream come true. I thank for all the people that helps materialized this trip。
This whole trip, from Beijing to Guiyang, from Hefeito Foshan, all way with surprise, all roads are full of feeling of love. I knowthat you have done a lot for this meet *ween you and me, I know that youprepared much, you wait so long time, it makes me feel so sorry for not doingmore for you. You use scroll and slogan to tell me your support and love to me,this sincere voice from your heart makes me know that I shall do more to payback your love. I will remember all the scene that touches me here and all thisgreat memory will inspire me on my basketball career。
When some fans was weeping after getting mysignature, my heart was full of gratefulness as well. But there is too shorttime during which I can not satisfy all the requirements of signing or photomaking for the Chinese fans who experienced so long awaiting. I can only saysorry for this. Of course, I believe I will be back China again, to meet you again,wait for me, my dearest Chinese fans!
And also, If without the thoughtful arrangement fromChinese partner Gan'ai Media (Beijing) Co., Ltdand Golden Gate international Inc, we can not be successful on this China trip. Ihere give me hearty thanks to them.
